2008 Turner Family Cabernet Sauvignon, Napa (only 6 cases left)

The grapes are from the Nord Vineyards in Napa Valley, and the wine is 85% Cabernet Sauvignon, and 15% Merlot. The bouquet is wonderful with a hint of new oak, the color a deep garnet and the tannins are soft enough so the wine can be enjoyed with food now. The grapes were picked October 6th, 2008, and the wine allowed to go through a natural yeast fermentation. The wine was pressed into 25% new Taransaud French oak barrels and the balance 1 year old French oak. It went thorough ML fermentation and was bottled Nov. 19th, 2009.

2009 Cabernet Franc, Napa

This has become my premiere red wine each year, with tiny production from Stoney Springs Vineyard north of St. Helena. The bouquet has a lovely floral component and the color a deep garnet. The flavors are beautiful and integrated with moderate French oak, and the wine will become even more elegant with an additional year of bottle age. The grapes were picked Sept. 9, 2009, and after fermentation, the wine was placed in 50% new French oak, where it went through ML fermentation. The alcohol level is lower this year (12.5%) making this a more Bordeaux-style wine with a lush mouth feel. The wine was bottled October 26, 2010.

2009 Chardonnay, Russian River, Dutton Ranch

This is a more White Burgundy-style Chardonnay than any of the previous 5 vintages. The grapes are from a higher elevation Dutton Ranch vineyard, closer to the Sonoma coast, and give the wine better acidity. The grapes are of mixed clones and are also sold to DuMol winery. After picking on Sept. 23, 2009, the grapes were whole cluster pressed, went through a natural yeast fermentation in tank, and ultimately 100% malolactic fermentation. The wine was aged in 50% stainless steel to emphasize the fruit and 50% one year old Francois Frere oak barrels for 13 months. 82 cases were bottled Oct. 26, 2010.
